Has this ever happened to you that whenever you got up from your seat for a coffee, water or a quick chat with your manager, on your return you found your computer to be locked. In a lot of companies the ‘time to lock’ is so less that even if your system is idle for sometime your computer will get locked. This means entering the long password everytime to enter into your system.
It’s good as it bolsters security. However, sometimes we leave our systems so often that entering the password every time can be very annoying.
Google recently came up with a new idea regarding the length of the password that is based on time span. In this, a subset of original password will be used to unlock a computer system whenever a user leaves his system for a short span. This implies that there is no need to enter a full password; rather we can enter a smaller one while the security is still maintained.
The length of the password will depend upon the time for which a user has abandoned his computer system. The screen of the computer system will be displaying the length of the password that user has to enter to unlock his system and also displaying the session for which he left his computer. The length of the password will increase with increase in the length of the session.
Moreover, a user has to provide full password after entering smaller password for predetermined number of times regardless of the time span. For example, after entering smaller password for five times he has to enter full password sixth time.
