How would you feel if your Tab may have dual screens that give you a feel as if you are working on your laptop while typing emails and creating document?
A recent patent application by Microsoft discloses such a thing for their Tablets. The patent mentions using an addition e-paper screen along with a tablet which could be used as an extended keyboard.
Microsoft has been working on e-paper display aka static display for quite some time. And now, we know why.
The benefit of using E-paper display is that it consumes way less power. Thus, battery consumption has already been kept at bay. Another benefit is that an e-paper screen can work standalone as it will have its own operating – child windows OS — system reads one embodiment of the patent.
E-paper display has very long refresh time, so using it as a keyboard would be a good alternate. Apart from typing, the E-paper screen could be used for drawing purpose also. Plus, you can read on it easily under direct sunlight.
One doubt could be surfacing over your head and I would like to remove that right away: the Child Window doesn’t send notification to its parent windows – hence, it will not affect the main OS performance.
Beside this invention, DJI has a drone which will act like a pet-sitter. The drone will control your pet’s activity, such as walking, without you.
